Preachin' to the Choir
04:24
|
|||
Baby, my heart is in my hand
I’m tryin’ to understand
How to win you back
Baby, don’t leave me all alone
I’m ready to atone
And gain the things I lack
I can see you're a part of me, I wanna' be part of you
But now you say, "it's the end, OK!" And I can't believe it's true
(Chorus)
Take a stand, take me by the hand
Reignite the fire
Try to say before you walk away
What do you desire
Make it last, forget about the past
Let's try to take it higher
So talk to me, tell me what you see
You know that I agree and that you're preaching to the choir now
Baby, I’ve tried to read your mind
But nothing I can find
Has helped me understand
So baby, please tell me one more time
It wouldn’t be a crime
To lend a helping hand
I believe that you send me signs that I don't always see
But have no fear if you make it clear, then you'll get the best of me
(Repeat Chorus)

Gone
04:38
|
|||
Feels like forever, getting through tonight
Livin’ on the edge, waiting for the light (don’t feel right…)
Climbing up the walls, but too afraid I’ll fall
Crying out for you, can’t you hear me at all (in the night…)
Chorus
And the love is lost from yesterday
Don’t know what it was
Ain’t no point in holdin’ on, to that feeling
now that it’s gone.
I hunger for you baby, don't you feel it too?
I hold out for the hope, of the love I feel for you (but it just ain’t true…)
Repeat Chorus
You need me for my love, or use me like a fool
Can’t decide which is which, or who’s the real you (can it be true..)
Feels like forever, getting through tonight
Livin’ on the edge, waiting for the light (still don’t feel right…)
Repeat Chorus

Passage
05:54
|
|||
We left from London town in April on our ship Discovery
Northwest we strove to find the fabled passage to the Orient
We braved the ice and battled currents in a great and whirling sea
And as the summer passed we sailed a path we thought was Heaven sent
By winter we had searched the bay from north to south with naught to show
Our sailors feared that we were lost and several cursed the Captain’s name
But like a man possessed he pushed us, turning back he would not know
Convinced the knowledge that he claimed to have would surely bring us fame
And soon our boat was trapped, encased in ice and snow
The scurvy gripped us and our food was running low
The cold was endless, bringing madness to our heads
Fearing surely that we’d all too soon be dead
With the thaw, we rounded up the Captain, his son and his men
We put them in the shallop, cut it loose and left them to their fate
I'm left to ponder if our mutiny was saintly or a sin
But that matters little as the waters of the western bay still wait

Never Alone
06:39
|
|||
Waves are crashing all around him
A patchwork veiled
He'll try to make it fit tomorrow
In his grasp
Never alone
The lines that were drawn long ago
And who will cross today?
Passed along without a question
Without question received
To give in would be betrayal
A weakness shown
The causes fade and leave with time
Connections lost
All that’s left are the emotions
As guide and as judge
Never alone
The past lives a life of its own
And who cannot obey?
If he’d been born 10 miles away
He'd have a different view
He’d be the thing he always hated
And he would fight
Never alone
The lines that were drawn long ago
And who will cross today?
Waves are crashing all around him
He'll try to make it fit tomorrow

Today is the Day
03:24
|
|||
You wake in the morning
The sun in your eyes, a smile on your face
You think that it’s over
No more hiding, getting out of this place
Look over your shoulder
Making sure that no one’s following you
A brand new beginning
Old life ending, time to start anew
(Chorus)
Deep in your mind you know you shouldn't have to live this way
And through the hurt and pain you ask yourself if you can say
That today is the day, today is the day
You're making your break now
No looking back, you dream you've gotten away
But then you see the sun setting
Close the curtains, it's the end of your play
(Repeat Chorus)

Dreams of a Lifetime
04:56
|
|||
See the mist is oh so slowly fading
The sounds of life get lost inside your mind
You feel you wasted time anticipating
Now you hope to recall what you can't find
(Chorus)
So hard to see, these dreams of a lifetime
These dreams of the young, that never seem to become
So hard to see so different now, now, (so different) now
Put it down now, all that you’ve been thinking
A distant searching, nothing seems quite right
You take for granted all the things around you
You can't look back, you've lost the sight now
(Repeat Chorus)
Remember the times in the light?
The endless days that felt so right
Remember how we would smile
At the breeze in the air
And in my eyes you would stare
Dreaming the dreams of a lifetime
So many visions you just left there drifting
Liquid dreams you should refuse to lose.
Where's the harm in all of this time waiting?
Keep on the path; it’s your life to choose…
(Repeat Chorus)

Rain (Far Away)
07:01
|
|||
Do you wake up to the sound of the pouring rain,
Fading days of blue flowing past your eyes?
As you search your mind for when the loss began,
Can you ever forgive yourself for goodbyes?
Run in the rain until it's washed away
But it never goes, it’s always there to see
Do you ever feel, I'm the only one you could have known?
In the end, you're not far from me
(Chorus)
Do you ever think of me, and how we loved one another?
Can you recall the words you never said?
I really can't believe, how lost I feel without you,
And how much I find I still care.
I run in the rain, try to wash it away
But it always haunts, it’s always there to see
I never knew love until you came along
Then you were gone, but how I can’t recall
(Repeat Chorus)

The Road Ahead
06:18
|
|||
Half my life has passed but I'm still here
The end creeps into sight but I don't fear
Others tell me that they're slowing down
I feel it too but baby I'm still lookin' at the road ahead
I just don't feel the final words been said
My hearts still in it and my mind is focused on the road ahead, on the road ahead
I didn't waste my youth on being young
And I won't bite my lip or hold my tongue
I turned my back on all those endless games
I just stopped playing when I set my sights on the road ahead
I still can push the needle to the red
I still like driving fast and get my thrills, from the road ahead
I feel I've lived a thousand lifetimes
And I can live a thousand more
Our lives are journeys with no destination
We never know what's next in store
But it gets harder as the years go by
Time takes a toll that we all dread
We have to keep our concentration
On the road ahead, on the road ahead, on the road
Besides the forlorn rags of growing old
What will happen to us no one knows
So I will make the most of all my time
Appreciate the moments I am rushing down the road ahead
I'll catch up on my sleep when I am dead
Until then you can find me living life on the road ahead, on the road ahead
